NAKAGAWA RESIDENCE

Designed for a newly-minted bachelor, the Nakagawa Residence remodel was an effort to peel back the skin on the existing home and leverage and capitalize on the indoor-outdoor lifestyle that Los Angeles has to offer. 

The Great Room is the heart and focus of the home, where walls slide away and the line between exterior and interior are streamlined.  The double-height ceiling and oversized glazing emphasize this connection further still.

The material palette was chosen for its texture and contrast, which allows for an ever-dynamic space as the light changes throughout the course of the day and seasons.
